Ted Cruz says he did not shut down government, host laughs in his face

Texas Sen.Ted Cruz appeared on Face The Nation Jan. 26 and attempted to downplay his role in shutting down the federal government to the tune of $24 billion in damages, while decrying the federal deficit in a splendid round of double-talk.  During this explanation Bob Schieffer did his best to remain professional and not laugh in the senator’s face.

That’s a big smile for Bob.

This is not the first time Cruz has attempted to distance himself from a crisis of his own choosing, nor does he show any shame for publicly declaring the government shutdown to being a success on Oct. 25, 2013 at the Iowa Republican Party Reagan Dinner.
