Star of ‘Modern Family’ refuses to take photo with gay hating Rick Santorum

Eric Stonestreet plays one of the most recognizable gay characters on television today on the hit show Modern Family.  Stonestreet was asked by gay-hating politician Rick Santorum, or frothy if you prefer, to take a photograph.  The actor, who is heterosexual, declined stating to HuffPost Live:

 ‘It was at a time when he was publicly saying, “Gay marriage, gay marriage is wrong” and I’m like, “You know, I can’t do it.”‘
He went on to say:
‘It was with him and his kids or something like that, and I said, “I’d be happy to take a picture with the kids, but I can’t just be in a picture with him.’
One wonders which would have stirred more publicity.  Stonestreet taking the picture, or his declination to take the picture.
