Life is indeed too short, as is evidenced by the story of Josephine “Ann” Harris who died Friday, July 6th at 70-years-old just hours after meeting President Barack Obama.

The president and his caravan were making a campaign stop at “Ann’s Place” in Akron, Ohio where he was greeted in the parking lot by Ann herself. President Obama gave her a hug, and she invited him into the restaurant. Once inside the president enjoyed his breakfast of two eggs, bacon, wheat toast, orange juice and water at around 8:30 a.m.

After being asked about her experience Harris was quoted by Ohio.com as saying “He treated us like one of the brothers. He hugged all of us and … got his picture taken with all of us.”

By 11:30 AM she said she felt a tingly sensation, and was rushed to the hospital. By the time the ambulance arrived she was pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of death was a heart attack.

President Obama called the family from Air Force One to express his condolences.

Harris’ sister, Frankie Adkins, says that “this was her highlight. She loved Obama.”
