First off, it was a bad idea to tell his girlfriend he cheated on her especially if he was joking. Secondly, it’s a terrible idea to for her to retaliate the way she did.

The whole thing is just awful.

You do realize that she said she thought he was going to propose. Clearly she thought the wrong thing, and didn't get butt hurt like you, a person on the internet that doesn't even know the definition of joke unless you look it up in the dictionary.

I see nothing wrong with this, it ended up fine in the end. If it had become a problem then they would have just broken up, which would be good because they obviously wouldn't have worked.
