Some cracks are showing in the solidarity between the men and women who work at Fox ‘News’, which is apredominantly right leaning news organization. Therefore, it will not shock many observers to hear of rampant and open sexism that is allowed not only in the organization privately off camera, but so blatantly to be aired live on television to millions of people.

Gretchen Carlson walking off the set of Fox and friends.

Gretchen Carlson and Brian Kilmeade are co-hosts on the program “Fox and friends.” Many have complained about Kilmeade’s often disrespectful remarks about women. During the June 14th broadcast they were airing a segment about barbecuing, and Carlson walked off the set after hearing Kilmeade say, “Women are everywhere. We’re letting them play golf and tennis now. It’s out of control.” Carlson replied with, “You know what? You know what. You read the headlines. Since men are so great. Go ahead. Take them away.”

The full transcript is below, and you may watch the video of the incident on the left hand side of this article.

KILMEADE: Women are everywhere. We’re letting them play golf and tennis now. It’s out of control.

CARLSON: You know what? You know what?

KILMEADE: She’s out.

CARLSON: You read the headlines, since men are so great. Go ahead. Take them away!

KILMEADE: All right. Finally.

CARLSON: Take them away!

KILMEADE: OK.

CARLSON: Go ahead!

KILMEADE: Leaving an all male crew.

CARLSON: In all your glory - go for it.

Carlson was back on the show the next day attempting to play off the incident saying it was just a joke and they were only having fun. That may be true, or it may also be true that Carlson values her six-figure paycheck more than she does her own self-respect.
