Dem Congressman tells man to watch less Fox News

Congressman Jim Himes, of Connecticut, responded to an angry rambling caller on C-SPAN’s Washington Journal by saying, “Maybe a little more C-Span and a little less Fox News.”

In typical fashion the bumbling conservative caller rattled off a list of buzzwords and then demanded that the list be responded to.  This is a typical problem in political conversation, where those with short attention spans believe they are constructing cohesive arguments simply by stating a topic.  It then falls to the responding individual to debunk the single word presented.  In terms of time ratio, it takes seconds to blurt out buzz words, and many minutes to respond with the facts.  Not that the individuals who perpetuate this type of thinking are interested in the facts, but this interaction showcases how difficult it can be to interact with those that have already made up their minds.
