Cutting education means expanding prisons

We are what we teach our children. We practice hate, our children learn to hate. When we preach love and compassion, our children do the same. They idolize and emulate us in every way. As the data below demonstrates, there is an inversely proportional correlation between education spending and prison spending. The fiscally and socially responsible solution would be to increase education. It would prevent more crime by empowering young adults to make better decisions. There are many facets to this diamond, and while budgets may be only one of those it is what we have the greatest control over. Culturally we are past the critical decision point and now we are on damage control.
